JOINid provides you limited access to UofT’s resources. You can access your application status, enroll in courses and pay your fees on ACORN.

Your UTORid uses the same username, but it grants full access to U of T services like email (UTmail+), Wi-Fi, and Quercus. 

  • If you lose your TCard and cannot replace it before the exam, bring valid government-issued photo I.D. (e.g. passport or Canadian provincial driver’s license or photo card, etc.) with you to the exam.
  • If you do not have valid photo I.D. (or only digital identification), you may not be allowed to write the exam.

Yes. Lost cards are returned to the TCard office and held for up to 30 days.

If your card is found, you’ll receive an email with pickup instructions. There is no fee to pick up a lost card.

No, TCard office does not accept photocopies or photos of documents. Documents must be current and valid. 

While we do empathize with students’ cards being lost/stolen, the $20 replacement fee cannot be waived for lost or stolen cards. If you don’t have access to a debit or credit card, we accept Apple Pay. You can also have a friend or family member pay on your behalf.

Please note that it can take up to 4 business days for your submission to be processed. Approval/denial emails will be sent to the email listed in your ACORN profile with a denial reason specified. 

  • If your JOINid has stopped working AND you haven’t received your SAK email, check your junk and spam folder. 
  • If it is not in your junk and spam folder and it has been more than 3 days since your submission was approved, please contact our office for further support.
  • Please follow the steps for newly admitted students to get your Utorid.
  • Once completed, you can pick up your TCard with a physical foreign passport for identity validation.

No. Your TCard is non-transferable. It is for your personal use only and cannot be shared, lent, or sold to anyone else.

  • A U of T employee may confiscate your TCard if there is reason to believe it is being used fraudulently or without authorization.
  • Confiscated cards are returned to the TCard Office.
  • If you need a replacement, the standard $20 fee applies.

You must submit the request through your Divisional access control representative/the ROSI Access form

Students, staff, faculty, and community members with blindness or low vision can receive a Braille sticker with their new or replacement TCard.
